About The Quiet Hour

Jake, creator of The Quiet Hour

Hi! My name is Jake. By day, I’m a Software Co-Ordinator at a medium-sized communications company. By night, I like to browse, study, and learn.

I’ve always been told that my voice has a natural calming effect, and as someone who used to suffer with pretty bad insomnia myself, I thought I could maybe use it to help others in a similar situation. My videos are all researched beforehand, and written and recorded by myself, with the aim of providing you content you can fall asleep to.

I try to cover a wide variety, and not all my content might be for you. I cover video essays around different subjects (which is my chosen content to fall asleep to), sleep stories, and meditation. Meditation in particular is quite new to me. Please feel free to reach out and request any particular content. If it interests me, I’d love to cover it!

What Is The Quiet Hour?

The Quiet Hour is a sleep content channel. Real stories, told by a real voice, at a pace that lets you drift off.

Every episode is written and narrated by me personally. Sleep stories, guided meditations, NSDR sessions, slow-paced documentaries. I don’t use AI voices or recycled scripts. Think of it as a candlelit library where you’re always welcome to close your eyes.

Topics range from history and mythology to science, space, popular media, and whatever else I find interesting.

What Makes It Different

There are a lot of sleep channels out there. Most use text-to-speech or read from the same recycled scripts. Here, every word is mine. Researched, written, and recorded by the same person.

I’m not a voice actor reading someone else’s work. I’m genuinely curious about the subjects I cover, and I think that comes through in how I tell the stories.

I also don’t pretend to have all the answers. If I’m new to something (like meditation), I’ll say so. It’s one person with a microphone, a quiet room, and a real interest in helping you get some rest.
